We will meet and make our way to the American side of the Niagara Falls, We'll to explore Niagara Falls State Park and Goat Island, a small island in the Niagara River located in the middle of Niagara Falls between the Bridal Veil Falls and the Horseshoe Falls.. Goat Island offers some of the most spectacular views available there, in particular at Terrapin Point. Here we will work with long exposure photography with filters, video and time lapse photography techniques. We'll return to the Canadian side and stroll the shoreline of the Canadian Falls to get a close look at the Horshoe Falls and the different angles across the American Falls. For those that are interested, we'll put our fancy gear away for a bit and take an elevator 150 feet down to experience the Journey Behind the Falls attraction. If you have a waterproof camera, this would be a great location to use it. Night time shooting of the specular lights over the Falls will cap off a very busy photography day.
SUNDAY, SEPT 10th, 2017
Canadian Falls at Sunrise is just gorgeous and we'll be up early to photograph this wonderful sight. Once finished, we'll take a breakfast break and then coordinate for a short, scenic drive up along the Niagara Parkway to Niagara On The Lake, a beautiful town positioned where the Niagara River meets Lake Ontario. Considered one of the prettiest towns in Canada, Niagara On The Lake also offers interesting forts, mansions, and colorful gardens as photographic subjects. Niagara On The Lake will provide some really unique photo opportunities. Once we've had our fill in Niagara On The Lake, we'll head back towards our hotel. We can spend our last night practicing some more low-light photography techniques with the beautiful lights of Niagara Falls as our backdrop. We will also take some time to stroll the Niagara strip for a little while and grab a bite to eat.
MONDAY, SEPT 11th, 2017
We’ll complete our workshop with sunrise over the Canadian Falls from a different location that the day before. Once we finish the sunrise, we’ll head back to the hotel and spend a little time processing and critiquing some of the weekend's images. We'll then say our goodbyes until the next photographic adventure!
Weather and trail conditions will be considered each day, so we may be having to switch days and locations around for an optimal photographic and travel experience. Breakfast is included each day at the hotel. Lunch and dinner are your responsibility. We recommend that you pickup and bring your own water and snacks for your room and for in-field shooting.
